Burnout

Burnout is emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion from prolonged or repeated stress. This series captures two years of navigating it – raw self-portraits exploring despair, exhaustion, anger, hope and joy. Each painting evolves spontaneously, reflecting the chaos and intensity of burnout.

About the gallery and Accessibility

To access the gallery you need to enter through the gift shop. There are 5 cement steps leading into the gallery space. The entrance for mobility aid users is located in the back alley, through a large chain-link gate, and then down a slope. The door at the bottom of the slope is an emergency exit that brings you into the back of the Slice Next Door space. This space has pinball machines and can be loud and crowded. The gate and door are regularly locked, so calling ahead or sending an email ahead should provide the easiest experience. You may also go into the gift shop and a staff member will be available to help day of.
